I sunni 3aqida-texter förlarars att det är logiskt omöjligt att någon profet skulle begå en synd (dvs. handla mot Alllah´s förbud) eftersom de har till uppgift att förmedla Allah´s förbud och påbud, och skulle de då själv handla emot dessa så skulle de mista trovärdighet.
