Taraweeh Salaah

Inläggav Tahiri Faqeer » mån sep 08, 2008 12:14

(sl),

Tänkte att dela den med Ni...Från Mufti Abdun Nabi Hamidi damat barkatuhum aaliya från Pakistan

Taraweeh Salaah

Taraweeh is the twenty Rakaat Salaah that is Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah and is prayed in the month of Ramadhaan after the Fardh Esha Salaah every night. Just as with any other Daily Salaah, any Surah or verses of the Qur'aan may be recited in Taraweeh. The time of Taraweeh is after praying the Fardh of Esha up until the beginning of the break of dawn [Hidaya]. In Taraweeh the Jamaat is Sunnat-e-Kifayaa, meaning that if all the people of the Masjid missed it then they would all be responsible for the sin and if one person prayed at home alone then he has not committed a sin [Hidaya, Qazi Khan].
It is Mustahhab to delay it until one third of the night has passed and if one waits until half the night has passed then there is no harm [Durr-e-Mukhtaar, Bahaar-e-Shariat].
Just as the Taraweeh is Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah for men, it is also Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah for women and they are not allowed to miss it [Qazi Khan].
The twenty Rakaats of Taraweeh are to be prayed in twenty, two Rakaats i.e. performing salaam after every two Rakaats and therefore ten salaams in total.

Tarweeh

After every four Rakaats it is Mustahhab to rest for the duration it took to pray the four Rakaats, this rest is called Tarweeh [Alamgiri, Qazi Khan]. After the Taraweeh has finished the fifth Tarweeh is also Mustahhab. If the fifth Tarweeh is a burden on people then do not do it [Alamgiri]. There is flexibility in Tarwih, whether you remain quiet or pray some Tasbeeh, Quran, Durood Sharif or Du’aa, and if wishes they may pray Nafl Salaah, but to do this with Jamaat is Makrooh [Qazi Khan].

Some rules pertaining to Taraweeh Salaah

Those who have not prayed the Fardh of Esha cannot pray the Taraweeh or Witr until he prays the Fardh or Esha. Those who prayed the Fardh of Esha alone (not in Jamaat) can pray the Taraweeh with Jamaat but he must pray the Witr alone [Durr-e-Mukhtar, Radd-ul-Mohtar].
If one has prayed the Esha Fardh with Jamaat and then prayed the Taraweeh alone, he may join the Jamaat for Witr [Durr-e-Mukhtar, Radd-ul-Mohtar]. If one has some outstanding Rakaats of Taraweeh left and the Imaam has stood up for Witr then it is better to pray the Witr with Jamaat (as long as he has prayed Esha Fardh with Jamaat) and thereafter he can pray the remaining Rakaats of Taraweeh. It is also allowed to complete the outstanding Rakaas of Taraweeh and then pray Witr alone [Alamgiri, Radd-ul-Mohtar]. If people have prayed the Taraweeh with Jamaat and want to pray it again then they can pray it alone but it is not allowed to pray it with Jamaat again [Alamgiri]. It is better to pray the Taraweeh with Jamaat in the masjid. If the Taraweeh is prayed in a house with Jamaat then one will not be sinful of missing Jamaat as it will still be counted but the reward will be less than praying in the masjid [Alamgiri]. The Taraweeh prayed behind a child (who has not reached the age of Puberty) will not count for any adults who prayed behind the child [Hidaya, Durr-e-Mukhtar, Alamgiri]. To complete the Qur’aan at least once in the month of Ramadaan is Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah [Durr-e-Mukhtar], If one performs Taraweeh, and completes the recitation of one entire Qur’aan before the end of Ramadhaan – they must still perform Taraweeh as Taraweeh is still Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah for them. This means that it is regarded important in Shariah and to miss it even once without reason is worth reprimanding, and to make a habit of missing it would make a person a Faasiq (sinner). A Faasiq is someone whose oath is not counted and they are worthy of Hell. To miss anything Sunnat-e-Mu’akadah is close to Haraam and those who miss it have a risk of not being interceded on the day of judgement.

Over and above these rules pertaining to Taraweeh Salaah, are those rules which pertain to Salaah in Jamaat. We must perform our Salaah with exellence and then hope for it to be accepted. If the qualities of our Salaah, or the qualities of the Imaam leading the Salaah is not 100% correct and in accordance with Shariah, we cannot hope for the acceptance of our Salaah.

Some rules pertaining to rows (Saff)

The rows should be straight and the people should be joined alongside each other. There should not be a gap between the people in the rows and the shoulders should be level and the Imaam should be in the front and in the middle. It is better to stand in the first row and close to the Imaam. However, in the Janaazah Salaah it is better to stand in the back row [Durr-e-Mukhtar]. The Muqtadee should say the Takbeer-e-Tahreemah with or after the Imaam. If the Muqtadee says the word 'Allah' with the Imaam and 'Akbar' before the Imaam then the Salaah will not count. The method of the rows should be that the men are in the front rows then children and then finally the women [Hidaya].

Some rules pertaining to the Imaam

The Imaam should be a Muslim, male, sane, adult, one who knows the rules of Salaah and a non Ma'zoor (has no illness which prevents him from performing his Salaah properly). If any of the above six aspects are not found in an Imaam then the Salaah behind him will not count. To make a 'Bud Mazhab' (person with corrupt beliefs) an Imaam is a sin and to pray any Salaah behind him would render the Salaah Makrooh-e-Tahrimi. It would then become Waajib to repeat this Salaah [Durr-e-Mukhtar, Radd-ul-Mohtar, Alamgiri]. The same applies Salaah behind an open wrongdoer (Fasiq Mu'allin) such as a person who drinks alcohol, gambles, adulterer, one who obtains interest money, one who tells tales, one who shaves the beard, one who folds his sleeves/pants in Salaah etc. those who commit big sins. It is a sin and Salaah behind them would be Makrooh-e-Tahrimi and to repeat it is Waajib [Radd-ul-Mohtar, Durr-e-Mukhtar etc.]
Namaaz behind those Bud Mazhabs whose beliefs have gone out of the folds of Islam such as Rafzi (Shiites, even if they only reject the fact of Hazrat Abubakr being a Caliph or a Sahhabi or insults the Shaikhain Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma), those who believe that the Holy Quran is man made, those who reject intercession, Those who continue to support those upon whom the fatwa of Kufr has been passed, Like Mirza Gulaam Qadiani etc.[Alamgiri, Guniya]. Infact, there is even a more stricter rule for those who call themselves Muslims and follow the Sunnats but still reject some important beliefs of religion (Zarooriyat-e-Deen) and insult Allah and His Prophet or those who regard those who insult Allah and His Rasool as Muslims. Namaaz behind these is also strictly not allowed. [Guniya, Ahkaam-e-Shariah]

Some rules pertaining to Salaah

There are several rules in Salaah, details of which I would not go into. I just wanted to make special emphasis on a few...
When standing in Salaah, you should remember that you are in Allah's Worship. It is not befitting Allah's Greatness that you dance to and fro whilst in Salaah. You should be more focussed.
No matter how hot it may be, you must stand shoulder to shoulder whilst in your saff ensuring that your heels are in line. It is almost Makrooh-e-Tahrimi to make any temporary fold to any portion of your clothing. This includes your sleeves OR your trousers. Again, this rules applies regardless of it being too hot, or whether you simply folded your sleeves so that your arms may dry after wudhu.
For men, when in Sajdah, your nose and forhead must be firmly pressed against the ground. It is also Fardh that at least one toe on each foot and Waajib that at least 3 toes on each foot be firmly pressed and facing Qiblah. Naturally this ruling applies to both Sajdahs in every Rakaat.
Should you require references, all these rulings are clearly found in Fiqh.

Lastly and Most Importanly, this knowledge has now become a burden upon you. You are now responsible for ensuring that you do not contradict any of these laws. In today's times, where people are ignorant to the sacred laws of Salaah and other daily activites, one should also make special effort to evaluate whether the Imaam you perform your Salaah behind performs his Salaah properly. (like his feet in Sajdah etc). Your Salaah is your responsibility, and your's to protect!

Allahu waRasoolahu a’alamu.
