Online prayer times calculators:



As days are getting longer, Isha will disappear for a longer or shorter period at locations above the 48th latitude.
The Birka Prayertime Calculator gives estimates (taqdir) for Isha and Fajr during this period as follows:

* Hanafi: Isha is estimated as the time when a fix portion of the might (1/7th) has passed.
* Shafi'i: applies the method of "Aqrab al-Bilad", i.e. estimates of Fajr and Isha are based on the the nearest location where these times still exist (that is the 48th latitude).
* Hanbali: Isha is given as 90 minutes after Maghrib.
* MWL: Here we have implemented "Aqrab al-Bilad" as described by MWL 2003/2007
* MWL/ICOP: emulates of the method of ICOP, based on the statement of MWL 2009

Important Note:
The taqdir is only applied within the period where the regular times for prayer do not occur.

Some communities in their prayer time tables use taqdir while the regular Fajr and Isha times still exsist, without any fiqh justification for doing so. Ulama of the Shaifii and Hanbali madhhab have stated that, if the time of Isha imposes excessive hardhip on an individual, he may combine Isha and Maghrib at the time of Maghrib. However, this should remain an individual decision, and should not be turned into a general rule.
