Han säger att judarna beskriver Allah som snål (alltså betydelsen av att "Hans hand är knuten"). Han ger ett citat av ´Abd Allah b. ´Abbas (r) - den sahabi som Profeten (s) utpekat som den mest kunnit i tafsir! - som sagt samma sak. Han citerar vidare ´Ali (r) som sade att de (judarna) menade inte med detta att han hade en hand om han knöt, utan de menade snålhet. Han hänvisar till flera sahabi som sagt samma sak: Mujahid, 3Ikkrima, Qatada m.fl. - I analogi med detta skriver han ang. "Hans två händer är öppna, Han spenderar hur han vill" att Allah är - vid i sin generositet, storsint i sitt givande, Han är den som har allt "på lager", och från Honom kommer allt som skapelsen har i form av ynnest och gåvor etc etc.

Imam Abu Hanifa (raDia Alllah ´anh) - och al-Maturidiyya som följer hans fotspår - säger att man enbart bör återge texten precis så som den står, på arabiska, och "bila kayf" (utan att förklara) - och framhäver samtidigt allt det som ordet **inte** betyder. Det betonas starkt att Allah är helt annorlunda än något av det Han skapat, och att det absolut inte kan vara fråga om någon kroppsdel, för Allah är varken sammansatt av delar eller en formbar enhet. Han är olik allt som förknippas med massa, färg, form, mått, avstånd, rörelse. Han är fri från allt som avgränsas av eller förändras i tid och rum. - osv osv - alla Maturdi aqida-texter är fulla med dessa förklaringar av vad Allah *inte* är.

Ash´ariyya föreslår istället att förklaras som makt, auktoritet, suverqnitet, generositet beroende på sammanhanget. Detta är ordvändningar som faller sig naturligt i det arabiska språket - araberna på Profetens (s) tid var ju språkets mästare! Ingen arab som hörde orden "بيده الملك" skulle ha kommit att tänka på någon "hand" överhuvudtaget - man förstår självklart att "Han har makten i sin hand" betyder att Han äger makten.

Vilken "förklaring" man än väljer att tro så är det i alla fall glasklart att Allah har ingen kroppar och inga delar, och att tror något sådant ligger utanför Islam.
